DiRose Signs to Attend Wilkes University

The Windsor Central School District is proud to announce that Nick Dirose signed his intent to attend Wilkes University where he will compete in football. Nick will play nose tackle at Wilkes after playing offensive tackle and every position on the defensive line at Windsor.

"I appreciate everyone who came down to the football games, everyone who came down to support me. I'm just ready to go to work," said DiRose.

"Nick has worked really hard on the field and in the classroom to give himself this opportunity," said Windsor Central High School Athletic Director Chris Durdon.

Nick will study mechanical engineering at Wilkes. Nick has a strong interest in engineering and is encouraged by the opportunities it will give him in the job market after college.

Nick only played football during his junior and senior seasons at Windsor. However, in his two years he was twice named All-Division Honorable Mention.

In 2016 Nick helped lead a Black Knights squad to a 7-3 record and its first trip to the sectional playoffs in eight years. Nick has also stayed busy off the field, working a pair of jobs. He is a laborer at Lunar Trans Service in Conklin and a cashier at Weis on Conklin Ave. in Binghamton.

Nick is the son of Patricia and Vincent DiRose.
