Summer Program Rundown: August 3
Summer camp summary August 3rd:
Robotics week ended with 4th and 5th graders who spent the week programming Lego NXT robots put their robots to the test. They had to “rescue” animals with their robots. Younger campers worked with different kinds of robots. For details on everything robotic at Knight Lights today click here.
Camp ended with a cheer showcase. Campers did individual tumbles and jumps as well as group cheers. Coaches gave out awards for such as Best All-Around, Most Enthusiastic, Most Improved and Best Smile.
“The varsity girls volunteered and made a lot of great bonds with the younger students,” said Cheer coach Lindsay Rogers. “It was nice to see how many skills they learned in such a short period of time.”
Campers listed learning jumps and hanging out with each other as their favorite parts of camp.
Today’s session was split into drills and game play. The drills included work on communication, shooting and first touch. In one drill campers were able to show off their favorite move.
Students then finished tournament play. All week campers have been split into different teams, each representing a country. Team Spain captured the camp championship.
