Students and staff at AF Palmer Elementary School collected 158 toys for Broome County Toys for Tots. The donation drive began just after Thanksgiving as part of the school’s GLOW character education morning program.
The drive is part of the school’s theme of Year of Caring. The school held an assembly in October with the American Heart Association to urge students to be physically active. In November the school took part in the District-wide Fill the Bus campaign, which raised over 2,500 pounds of food for those in need.
Activities involving the Broome County Dog Shelter and the American Heart Association are in the works for the start of 2018.
