College Board Recognizes WCHS Trio

Congratulations to Windsor Central High School seniors Aubrey Dixon, Dakota Payne, and Nicholas Pisano for earning academic honors from the College Board National Recognition Programs.
Students earning this honor need a GPA of 3.5 or higher, be in the top 10% of PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10 assessment takers in each state for each program or have earned a score of 3 or higher on two or more AP Exams. They either attend school in a rural area or small town, or identify as African American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, or Indigenous/Native.

Students can include this academic honor in their college and scholarship applications. Dixon, Payne, and Pisano are all planning on going to college.

“I’m looking into it. I’m looking more toward forensics and biology. Hoping to stay in New York State, preferably by going to a SUNY school.,” said Payne.

“I’m definitely going to business school. I want to own a business,” said Dixon. She is applying to Cornell, Clarkson, Brown, Hofstra, Yale, and Notre Dame.

Pisano, on the other hand, is already taking classes at Binghamton University and SUNY Broome while a senior at WCHS. He is taking calculus, linear algebra, and electricity and magnetism. He hopes to attend either MIT, Johns Hopkins, or Brown.

“I hope to go to MIT to study pure math. I want to become a mathematician and research mathematics,” said Pisano. “I’d like to become a professor and also study frameworks behind physics and engineering.”
