Dixon, Pisano Secure Top 2 Spots in Class of 2024

Windsor Central High School senior Aubrey Dixon has earned distinction as the WCHS Class of 2024 valedictorian and Nicholas Pisano has secured the position of salutatorian.
“It feels incredible. I’ve been working toward valedictorian for ten years,” said Dixon.

What was the key to her reaching her goal?

“I definitely think it was not accepting anything less than a 100. Whether that was doing extra credit or staying up late studying, it was about getting that 100,” said Dixon.

Dixon will apprentice with a tattoo artist over the summer. She already has a portfolio with 1,200 drawings. Dixon is still deciding on her undergraduate plans but intends to eventually pursue an MBA at Hofstra University.

Pisano is the first in his family to achieve such a high academic ranking in his class.

“It’s a nice honor to receive, especially since it made my older siblings jealous,” said Pisano. “I worked really hard. I didn’t care too much about my GPA. I knew what I liked doing and I followed that. That was math. That translated to success."

Pisano took physics and math classes at BU, SUNY Broome, Tompkins County Community Collage and the University of Buffalo while attending WCHS. He will attend SUNY Brockport to study mathematics. He would like to research math and become a professor of math.
