Windsor Students Take In Engineering Day

11 Windsor 8th graders -  Anthony Cannistra, Nolan Colpitts, Keagan Connors, Katelyn Reed, Elena Kohlbach, Eli Urda, Lucas Sansom, Lily Roberts, Logan Oakley, Berkely Ingram, and Julian Holdrege – went to Lockheed Martin for Engineering Day on March 21st.
“It was an engaging and fun experience for all the students, and it even helped some decide to take some engineering courses next year at the high school,” said teacher Daina Kocak.

Students participated in hands-on engineering activities and simulations, with groups from Windsor winning the egg drop and bridge building contests.

"My favorite part of the Lockheed martin trip was the egg drop challenge. This was fun because it challenged me and my team to work together to make something that would save the egg, and we won. This field trip opened my options to whatever type of engineering is available to pursue,” said Holdrege.

"My favorite part of our trip to Lockheed Martin was when we went to look at all the incredible equipment in the helicopter hanger. The helicopters were mind-blowing to just look at, and so was all the technology and hard work it takes to build and design them. This experience helped me to realize that engineering may be a part of my future,” said Roberts.
