Lehr a NYS Livestock Ambassador
The New York State 4-H program has named Windsor Central High School Senior Vanessa Lehr a New York State Livestock Ambassador, making Lehr one of ten in the state. Lehr will travel New York learning about other livestock programs and different breeds of livestock. At WCHS, Lehr has been part of the livestock show team, animal vet science program, and two summers ago spent two weeks at Virginia Tech learning in its veterinary science program.
“I’m super excited and super honored to have this amazing opportunity. I’m really looking forward to learning more about careers and agriculture, and all of the experiences I can get travelling all over New York state,” said Lehr.
“Vanessa has really worked in this industry her whole entire life, between her family’s farm raising everything from horses to sheep and goats and meat chickens, she really embodies the entire livestock industry with her experiences,” said WCHS agriculture teacher Tina Miner-James.

“It really gives me more opportunities to form connections and build my resume and learn about other careers that might be an option for me,” said Lehr.
