Windsor CSD Summer Program Recap - August 11

The second week of the Windsor CSD summer Fine Arts camp continued Tuesday.
Studio art camp consists of four stations: drawing, painting, 3D, and crafting. Drawing students created an ocean animal mashup. They combined an animal that lives in the sea with one that doesn’t to make a new creature.

Painting students are working on a pointillism piece this week. On Tuesday, they transferred their sketches onto canvas, using dots to fill in the painting.  

3D artists continued making squishy, 3D objects, such as watermelons, snakes, and cherries. Crafting students made stained glass tea lights. They have also been working on a community mural quilt. Students are deciding on a slogan for the quilt, as well as their artistic interpretation of what it means to be a Black Knight.

Karaoke campers continued to sing and build confidence performing in front of others. Beginning band, which consists of 5th-grade musicians, worked on the 3/4 time signature and dynamic control. Advanced band members in grades 6-9 practiced two more pieces as they decide what to play during Thursday’s camp-ending performances.

Chorus singers practiced warm-up exercises and performed a song on Tuesday. Musicians in basic rock instruments practiced bass guitar on Tuesday. They have also learned guitar, keyboard, drums, and vocals during camp. On Wednesday, they will form an ensemble to perform for a music video on Thursday. Music technology students continued engineering songs in GarageBand.

Students in the two sessions of theater camp each wrote a script last week, On Tuesday, they ran through the script and blocked out scenes. They will perform on Thursday.
