WCHS '23 Grad Forbidussi to Work for NBC During Winter Olympics
When COVID shut down the world, a career opened up for Ryan Forbudussi.
“I got into video games streaming and live streaming myself playing video games. I then took that footage and taught myself to edit on Premier Pro and uploaded it to YouTube,” said Forbudussi.
That exercise began a career in video production that has led Forbudissi to NBC Sports. The Class of 2023 Windsor Central High School alumnus will graduate from Ithaca College in May. But first, he will continue working for NBC Sports for the network’s coverage of the Winter Olympics.
“The opportunity to work for the Olympics has honestly felt like a dream come true especially at such a young age. I can’t wait to be able to contribute to one of the biggest stages in sports,” said Forbidussi.
That chance began on smaller stages. Forbidussi entered the Broome-Tioga BOCES video production program in 11th grade. He competed in Skills USA and worked for local professional sports teams.
“I feel like my time at Windsor was the start of it all. I got a lot of great opportunities to work at the local level at places such as the Binghamton Black Bears and the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. I will always be grateful for my time at Windsor as I feel like it was the kickstart to my career,” said Forbidussi.
At Ithaca College, Forbidussi has directed live Cornell Athletics sporting events that air on ESPN+, and it’s where he found his entry to NBC Sports.
“I got connected with NBC Sports through a LinkedIn post. I applied for their summer internship program. I went through multiple interviews and was lucky enough to get selected,” said Forbidussi.
He lived in Stamford, Connecticut over that summer working hybrid at NBC sports, then earned an academic year internship which is giving him the opportunity to work during the 2026 Winter Olympics.
His assignments include athlete feature projects and live event highlights for Olympic sports including track, swimming, water polo, skiing, snowboarding, curling, and speed skating. During the Olympics, Forbidussi will have a number of responsibilities, including editing cinematic recaps of the Olympic Winter games.
“My current plan would be to work with NBC after graduation. I am hopeful that my contributions to my internships, as well as what I can contribute to the Olympics will put me in the position to be able to work with NBC full-time after college,” said Forbidussi. “I’m very proud of the position that I am currently in. It took a lot of hard work and discipline. I work almost every weekend of my college career, but I feel like in the end it really paid off. I hope I will see those results continue to pay off as my career continues.”
