Windsor CSD Summer Program Update - August 12
Campers made progress toward their final projects at the Windsor Fine Arts Camp on Thursday.
The 6th-8th-grade band musicians built chords as a band and continued work on performing Attack of the Garden Gnomes. The 5th-grade band made progress in their arrangement of Power Rock.Advanced Vocal singers refined their performance of Jessie J’s song, Price Tag, which they will perform on Thursday. The group assigned roles, including solos, for the performance.
Theater students continued rehearsing skits they will perform during the camp’s final day on Thursday.
Studio art campers continued building birdhouses. On Monday, they researched bird species to choose a bird and design a birdhouse to attract that species. Those who finished their birdhouse began work on either a watercolor or canvas painting.
Musicians in Modern Band worked through stations for drum, guitar, and ukulele. Advanced band campers continued their lesson on the bass guitar.
Music Tech students created original compositions in GarageBand using music loops. Sing, Move, Play campers practiced bucket drumming and ukulele.
Campers in the Beat the Odds drum circle continued to produce rhythms, engaged in team drumming exercises, and learned mantras to use when experiencing strong feelings, connecting them to rhythms.
