Windsor CSD Summer Program Update - August 7

Posted Date: 8/07/25 (3:00 PM)

Fine arts students became fine arts performers on Thursday.
The 6th-8th-grade band performed three songs at the camp’s lunch on Thursday: Wipeout, The Magnificent Seven, and Scooby Doo, Where Are You?

The 5th-grade band performed Windsor Rocks. The Sing, Dance, and Play group played The Lion Sleeps Tonight on the boom whacker.

Before the performances, artists continued their work in one of six sessions: figure drawing, free drawing, kindness rock painting, a Jeff Koons-inspired mixed-media cityscape, bracelet making, and abstract painting.

The camp also added scratch art, and some students made dice on Thursday.

Musicians in Modern Band continued their lesson on the string guitar, while advanced band campers did the same on the bass guitar.

Music Tech students explored a pair of applications: Incredibox, which is a beat-making application, and Beepbox, which allows users to compose music. Advanced vocal students performed an a cappella version of the song, We Will Sing.  Some students also performed solos.

Bowling and field hockey camps concluded on Thursday.

Bowlers finished camp by throwing on the lanes and collecting their prizes for their contests this week: Connect 4, bowling edition, and bowling bingo. They competed this week by bowling a strike or spare, scoring nine twice in a row, bowling three strikes in a row, and more. Less experienced bowlers had to achieve less advanced accomplishments.

Field hockey players incorporated the skills they’ve learned this week into mini games. They competed in two-on-three drills and split into teams to play an Olympic-style tournament, exhibiting their dribbling, shooting, and passing skills.
