Windsor CSD Summer Program Update - July 22

Posted Date: 7/22/25 (6:41 PM)

The smells of garlic, roasting vegetables, and more filled the classrooms of Windsor Strong Academy on Tuesday.
This week’s theme at Windsor Strong Academy is "From Garden to Greatness." Students are preparing a meal that includes a salad, entrée, and dessert. Those who didn’t cook on Tuesday will do so on Wednesday and present their meals on Thursday.
The students also need to create table settings. The Windsor FFA (Future Farmers of America) chapter donated chickens, vegetables, and herbs from the district’s Land Lab for the students to use. They are also donating flowers for the floral arrangements that will accompany the meals.

Knight Lights campers split between four groups of students who spent the morning at Windsor Central High School and those who stayed at the home of Knight Lights, Palmer Elementary.

The groups that visited WCHS rotated between playing kickball, swimming, and touring the school’s Land Lab and Music Suite, which included its state-of-the-art recording studio.

Those at Palmer built with Minecraft blocks to learn about perimeter and area, and also rotated through STEM stations, which included building catapults.

Baseball, softball, and lacrosse camps continued on Tuesday.

Baseball players practiced fielding and throwing fundamentals and played a three-inning scrimmage.

Softball players focused on hitting, baserunning, and fielding drills, then played a wiffle-ball scrimmage.

Lacrosse campers participated in ground ball, passing, and catching drills, further developing the skills they learned on Monday.
