Windsor CSD Summer Program Update - July 21
The third week of the Windsor CSD 2025 Summer Program began on Monday.
This week’s theme at Windsor Strong Academy is "From Garden to Greatness." Students worked on creating a menu on Monday that includes a salad, entrée, and dessert. The Windsor Strong campers will prepare their meals on Tuesday and Wednesday and present their meals on Thursday. The students also need to create table settings. The Windsor FFA (Future Farmers of America) chapter donated chickens, vegetables, and herbs from the district’s Land Lab for the students to use. They are also donating flowers for the floral arrangements that will accompany the meals.
Knight Lights campers created pixelated drawings in the style of Minecraft. Monday’s STEM activity was creating Alka-Seltzer rockets by combining Alka-Seltzer and water in a small plastic film canister, then closing the canister to create pressure until it explodes.
Baseball, softball, and lacrosse camps began on Monday
Baseball players worked through bunting, throwing mechanics, and outfield fielding stations before engaging in competitive scrimmages to test those skills.
Softball players worked on throwing accuracy, hitting, and fielding fly balls.
Lacrosse campers learned basic skills: agility, close passing and catching, and advanced passing and catching.
