Windsor CSD Summer Program Update - July 14
The second week of the 2025 Windsor CSD Summer Program began on Monday.Students at Knight Lights, Windsor CSD’s elementary recreation camp, enjoyed a range of activities, including making tie-dye socks and shadow art. K-1 students also learned about farm animals. Students in grades 3-5 planted mystery seeds and guessed which plant they might become.
Some students split into groups to prepare for a debate on Tuesday on whether phones should be allowed in school.
Windsor Strong Academy students competed in a Rube Goldberg machine contest. Rube Goldberg machines are apparatus designed to perform a simple task in an unnecessarily complex way.
After the competition, WSA campers began designing and building cardboard boats that they will launch at the cardboard boat regatta at the Windsor Central High School pool on Thursday.
Tennis, track, swim and dive, and volleyball camps began on Monday
Tennis campers engaged in an introduction to the sport, including stretching, footwork drills, and learning how to hold a racket.
Track athletes learned the long jump.
Swimmers took a swim test, learned freestyle kicks and arm motions, and did breathing work.
Volleyball players split into three groups. Those in grades 4-5 worked on reaction, timing, and agility. Players in grades 6-7 worked on passing, while those in grades 8-9 practiced passing and setting.
