Windsor CSD Summer Camp - July 10 Update

Posted Date: 7/10/25 (6:49 PM)

The first week of the 2025 Windsor CSD Summer Program came to an end on Thursday.
Some students in Knight Lights, Windsor CSD’s elementary recreation camp, continued their lessons in potential energy. They made projectile launchers and studied how quickly objects flew based on the amount of potential energy the launcher stored.

Windsor Strong Academy students participated in an egg drop contest. Contestants such as Egg-ward and Egg-am Sandler competed to survive multiple rounds of drops. Congratulations to the winning egg, Jimmy Bob Junior the Third.

They also started working on building Rube Goldberg machines, apparatus designed to perform a simple task in an unnecessarily complex way. The students will test their machines on Monday.

Basketball, cheer, and wrestling camps ended on Thursday

Basketball campers continued working on moving without the ball by cutting or screening away after passing the basketball.

“We tell them we don’t want any offense stoppers,” said basketball coach Dan Rathmell.

Cheer athletes put all the basics they’ve learned this week, jumps, stunting, stumbling, and cheer, into a final routine.

Wrestling campers once again worked on techniques from different positions. They practiced a front headlock series from the neutral position, a knee-slide stand-up from bottom, and a near-side cradle from top.

Windsor Strong Academy and Knight Lights continue next week. Next week’s sports camps are tennis, track and field, swim, and volleyball.
