Summer Program Rundown: August 16
Summer camp summary – August 16th

Knight Lights:
Engineering week continues to finish off Knight Lights. Campers today worked on bottle rockets that will be launched tomorrow. Other STEM campers made slime. All campers will enjoy rocket launches, inflatable games and more during Thursday’s final day of Knight Lights. For more on how the campers built their rockets, click here.

Fine arts camp:
First, congratulations to Danica Ball for winning first place in today’s Pajama Day contest. Fine arts camp will finish Thursday with Windsor Spirit day.

Art students finished many of their works as they have spent the past two weeks painting, drawing, sculpting and creating Claymation videos. Thursday will feature a showcase of those videos. Campers will also continue to decorate grocery bags which will be available at the Big M to fight hunger. People can donate $5 to fill those bags with food for a local family in need. The art camp would like to finish 100 bags by the end of the week.

Improv continued exercises to build teamwork. During tomorrow’s final day of camp improv students will have to listen to a teammate while blindfolded to make their way through an obstacle course. This exercise will allow campers to become more aware of their surroundings while trusting teammates.

Band musicians continued to work in advanced, intermediate and beginner groups. The most experienced band group held a long-tone contest to see who could hold the longest note. All groups will put on an end-of-camp performance Thursday at noon.

Music tech students have continued to score the Claymation videos created in art class and will take part in the video showcase Thursday.

Also Thursday other musical groups will perform including ukulele, drums and advanced vocals. The performances are at noon Thursday and parents are welcome to attend.
