3rd & 4th Graders Honored at Weeks
A timeless story about a boy who didn’t want to grow up highlighted a day featuring students at C.R. Weeks Elementary who are doing just that.

The school held its annual 3rd & 4th Grade Awards ceremony. Grace Reed, Gabriel Soundararaj and Maryann Tuttle each earned awards for perfect attendance.

The following students won Student Council trophies: Hunter Ellis, Gavin Griffith, Addyson Guarino, Makayla Vanderpool, Jasmine Adorno, Fran DiGuilio, Elizabeth Hopkins, Maryann Tuttle and Ryan Waddell.

The following students were honored for earning a spot on the Honor Council: Gabriella Ackley, Jasmine Adorno, Joshua Adorno, Cole Andrews, Peyton Brown, Richard Burnett, Kendra Button, Drake Evans, Kenna Frederick, Addyson Guarino, Autumn Hall, Elizabeth Hopkins, Parker Lake, Isabella Quick, Eli Scales, Gabriel Soundararaj, Ella Stonehouse, Tristan Swingle, Maryanne Tuttle, Makayla Vanderpool, Ryan Waddell and Ashton Werner.

After the awards ceremony the 3rd-grade students performed Peter Pan. The students have spent the year reading the book and watching the movie before performing on stage.

“Every child has taken a part from prop manager to project manager to Wendy,” said 3rd-grade teacher Jenna Waldron.

The performance also marked the first collaboration between the 3rd-grade class and the High School music program as the actors wore wireless microphones during their performance for the first time.

“The children were really excited,” said Waldron.

“All of the students have worked hard all year. It’s nice to have special recognition for certain awards but all of the students should feel proud. They’ve been great,” said Weeks Elementary principal Kristin Beriman.
