Windsor Named Top-3 District in Binghamton-Elmira Area
Buffalo Business First has ranked the Windsor Central School District third out of 40 in the Binghamton-Elmira area. Windsor’s ranking of 73rd out of 431 Upstate districts is an improvement of three spots over last year, 32 since 2014, and 58 places over 2011.

“The continuous improvement of our district is encouraging, and a by-product of the hard work of our teachers, staff, and students. With the expansion of technology in our classrooms, enhanced focus on career- and college-readiness, and continued professional development of our educators, I expect the improvement to continue,” said Dr. Jason Andrews, Superintendent of the Windsor Central School District.

Buffalo Business First ranked Windsor as a five-star district in two areas: social studies and achievement index. The achievement index compares a district’s academic rank with socio-economic indicators.

This most recent survey of the district caps a year of accolades for Windsor.

Niche.com, a website dedicated to researching colleges, schools, neighborhoods and companies, named the Windsor Central School District one of the 50 with the best teachers in Upstate New York for this school year, and best place to teach in Broome County.

The website also placed the Windsor Central School District in roughly the top four percent in the nation in the following categories: best places to teach and best districts for athletes.

For the second straight year and third time in four years, The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) foundation has named the Windsor Central School District one of the Best Communities for Music Education in the nation.

These honors all come after a 2018-2019 school year which saw 11 educators from the Windsor Central School District earn the distinction of New York State Master Teacher. The total of 11 was the highest from any Southern Tier district.
