Windsor a Five-Star District
Buffalo Business First has placed the Windsor Central School District 76th out of 431 Upstate districts, and third out of 40 districts in the Binghamton-Elmira area, in its 2018 rankings.

The publication also named Windsor one of just 70 five-star school districts in Upstate New York. Windsor’s ranking in the top 10 percent of Upstate districts in Social Studies education led to the five-star distinction.

The rankings for the Binghamton-Elmira Area encompass 40 school districts in Broome, Chemung, Chenango, Delaware and Tioga counties. The ratings are based on Business First's analysis of four years of test results and graduation rates.

“Coming on the heels of having a Southern Tier-high 11 educators recently named Master Teachers by New York State, these rankings reinforce that the hard work of our staff and students is being recognized by those both inside and outside of the District. I’m proud of everyone responsible for Windsor’s growing reputation as a leader in 21st-century learning,” said Dr. Jason Andrews, Superintendent of the Windsor Central School District.

Buffalo Business First's school district rankings are determined by a 208-part formula. In addition to test scores and graduation rates, the publication also weighs cost efficiency, administrative efficiency and socioeconomic climate among other factors in calculation.
