The National Center for Rural Education Research Networks (NCRERN), based at Harvard, will analyze district data. Districts will assess its historical performance, use data to identify challenges and successes, and act on evidence to co-develop and pilot strategic interventions with other districts. NCRERN’s goal is for districts and agencies to use data to identify key problems and systematically test interventions to address them.

“I am proud of the improvements Windsor has made in recent years in reducing absenteeism and increasing college readiness. However, this is an outstanding opportunity to partner with leading educational researchers and other rural districts to develop strategies to even better serve our students,” said Dr. Jason Andrews, Superintendent of the Windsor Central School District.

NCRERN will expand the network to include three additional states in which to implement successful interventions. The five-year initiative is funded by a $10 million federal grant.
