Summer Program Recap - August 2
Known for his feats of strength, Bill Clark is offering some advice to Windsor elementary students about the heavy lift known as life.

He is speaking to all three Windsor elementary schools, beginning Tuesday at Bell Elementary. Clark is a former world champion powerlifter who has set over 100 state, national, and world records in strength and power sports.
Clark wants to share the lessons of discipline he learned in his athletic career with students so they can pursue excellence.

“If you pursue excellence, you don’t even have to worry about success. Success will chase you,” said Clark. “If you’re disciplined, it’s a tough path. It’s a 50/50 proposition: 50% what you do and 50% what you walk away from.”

Clark will visit Weeks Elementary on Wednesday and Palmer Elementary on Thursday.

Rowdy, the mascot of the Binghamton Rumble Ponies baseball team, also visited Bell Elementary on Tuesday, and will stop at Weeks on Wednesday and Palmer on Thursday.

Windsor Strong Academy students traveled to the Binghamton University Downtown Center to explore careers, including a panel discussion with five professionals: Scott Beattie and Mackenzie DuBois of the Windsor Central School District, Kristina Albrecht from Visions Federal Credit Union, Sgt. Tom Sienko from the Broome County Sheriff’s Office, and artist Emily Jablon.

Sports camps also continued Tuesday. Softball players participated in team bonding exercises and held a scrimmage. 4th and 5th grade baseball campers practiced fielding, throwing, and hitting. Older baseball campers practiced hitting and baserunning.

Girls lacrosse players worked on defense Tuesday, boxing out opposing players from the ball, and playing goalie. Boys lacrosse players practiced dodging, shooting, and passing.

Mrs. Gaige’s 12:1:3 camp took a trip to Cinema Saver in Endicott to see the DC League of Super Pets.
