For The Birds
If you’re hungry – and a bird – you can find some relief on the Windsor Central High School campus.

Students in Mrs. Gaige’s 12:1:3 class built and hung a pair of bird feeders after researching bird populations.
“My class has been learning about birds and we built bird feeders out of popsicle sticks. After observing bluebirds on a recent walk, we have been really interested in learning about other birds. We read an article from National Fish and Wildlife Foundation about bird populations declining and were concerned,” said Mrs. Gaige.

The class decided to take a step to support the bird population and do some research along the way.

“We decided to do an experiment to see if birds like wide open habitats, like a tree in a field, or if they prefer habitats within dense forests. The bird feeders are filled with black sunflower seeds and hung in two locations on the school property,” said Mrs. Gaige.
What is her hope for the exercise?

“Hopefully, some hungry birds come check out our experiment.”
