Groome Gets Top Spot
The Broome County Music Educators Association (BCMEA) has named Windsor Central Middle School 6th grader Cassie Groome as 1st Chair for French Horn in the 5th and 6th grade Band.

“It feels good. It was a lot when I realized I was one of lots of people who tried out, and I made it,” said Groome.

Groome has been playing the French Horn for two years.

“It’s one of the instruments that’s hard to play. It’s a privilege because not a lot of people play it,” said Groome.

Groome will play at the BCMEA concert at Binghamton University’s Anderson Center in March.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity for Cassie to play French Horn outside of our school walls with other talented musicians from around Broome County,” said middle school music teacher Christine Krieger.
