Windsor summer camp summary July 27:

Windsor Strong Academy:
Students presented their “What Makes a Community Strong” findings at the Binghamton University Downtown Center. For more on their research and how its impact will continue beyond the summer camp click here.

Knight Lights:
Earth Week wrapped up with another trip to Cole Park, this time for the older students (grades 3-5). Those students took part in geocaching, where objects, or “caches”, are marked and found using GPS technology. Younger students made the same trip Wednesday, however used mapping and compass skills to find their chaches.

Field hockey camp:
Campers practiced drills, special situations such as corner, long hits and strokes, and finished camp with tournament play.

“We tried to have a fun day, let them play as much as possible,” said junior varsity coach Becky Adolf. “It’s been fun. I think they’ve learned a lot. Their skills have come quite a way.”

Football camp:
The final day of football camp featured a pass, punt and kick contest as well as a mini-tire flip.

“We can keep driving them into the ground, drill, drill, drill,” said varsity head coach Tim Hogan. “I think camp went great. Our numbers are up for youth and Middle School. I think this is going to keep us in the right direction.
