Calta Earns One Honor, Aims for Another

Windsor Central Middle School 8th grader Garrison Calta earned one honor Tuesday as he aims for another later this month.

State Senator Fred Akshar presented Calta with his latest Akshar All-Star designation at the Middle School Tuesday for Calta’s academic, social, and athletic success. This, as Calta and his Ridin’ Revolutions BMX team get set to race at the Grand Nationals in Tulsa, OK November 28-December 1.

“My team went last year but I got hurt training, so I didn’t go. I’m really looking forward to going this year,” said Calta.

Calta finished 2nd at the New York State championship in Long Island in September. His goal is to do even better in Tulsa.

“Oh, yeah. Number one in the nation,” said Calta.

Calta will race with his two brothers on the Ridin’ Revolutions team. Older brother, Deemer, is a 2019 WCHS graduate who is at SUNY Broome. Younger brother, Jerrick, is a 4th grader at C.R. Weeks Elementary. The three will also race with their cousin, 7th grader Corbin Evans.
