The Windsor Central School District is one of the 50 school
districts with the best teachers in Upstate New York for the coming school
year. This is according to niche.com, a website dedicated to researching U.S.
colleges, schools, neighborhoods, and companies.
“This is well-deserved recognition for our outstanding faculty. I appreciate the skill and dedication our teachers bring to their classrooms every day, and I know they take pride in helping making our students future-ready,” said Dr. Jason Andrews, Superintendent of the Windsor Central School District.
The ranking comes after a 2018-2019 school year which saw 11
educators from the Windsor Central School District earn the distinction of New
York State Master Teacher. The total of 11 was the highest from any Southern
Tier district.
Niche.com used a number of factors to determine the rankings, including teacher salaries, absenteeism, tenure, student-teacher ratio, and student proficiency. Windsor’s ranking not only places it among the best in Upstate New York, but also the best in Broome County.
The website has also recognized Windsor as being the best
place to teach in Broome County, and the best district for athletes in Broome
County.
Niche.com has also placed the Windsor Central School
District among the elite in the nation. The website ranks Windsor as being the
401st best place to teach out of 11,130 districts in America, and
441st out of 10,815 best districts for athletes in America, roughly
the top four percent in the nation in both categories.
