Miss Perfect

As the strikes kept coming, so did the nerves. Alexis Barton knew she was getting closer to perfection.

"I was trying to stay calm because I know that if you get nervous, you can pull it," said Barton.

The Windsor Central Middle School 8th grader mastered her nerves and the lanes to bowl her first-ever perfect game. She accomplished the milestone at Sunset Lanes in Kirkwood on Saturday.

"At the end, I was really nervous. But, I thought I threw a good shot. I didn't think there was anything wrong with it," said Barton.

And there wasn't. All ten pins fell for the final time to secure the perfect game.

"I was excited. I started cheering for myself," said Barton.

Barton spent the winter season on the Windsor bowling team. She has been involved in the sport since she was three years old. She looks forward to her freshman season next year and hopes this is the first of many perfect games.

"I do. I feel more confident," said Barton.
