Animals Up Close

Are you having a hard time coping with the cold and snow of winter? Imagine how some wild animals feel. Pre-K students in Mrs. Bennett’s class at C.R. Weeks Elementary got to do more than imagine thanks to an “Animals Up Close” lesson from the Finch Hollow Nature Center.

Students examined the collection of mounted animals to study the feathers, fur, shells, skins and scales that allow animals to survive in different climates. They also learned about how animals cope through methods such as migration and hibernation.
