Summer Program Recap - August 11

Thursday marked the final day of the 2022 Windsor CSD summer program. There were lively lessons and good, old-fashioned fun.

Elementary campers at Bell and Weeks enjoyed their activities outside, including learning about a solar balloon. A solar balloon looks like a giant worm made from a massive black garbage bag.
The balloon gains buoyancy when the air inside is heated by solar radiation, usually with the help of the dark. material. The heated air inside the solar balloon expands and has lower density than the surrounding air.

Thursday was water day at Palmer Elementary, with students enjoying water toys, a bounce house, and water slide.

Windsor bowling coach Bob Pflanz had Sunset Lanes in Kirkwood turn down the lights and turn up the music to create a “midnight bowling” feel or his bowlers on the final day of camp.

Field hockey campers had an Olympic competition. Players divided themselves into two teams, or countries, then participated in drills and mini games to earn points.

While the 2022 Windsor CSD summer program is complete, work continues getting each school ready for the return of students. The first day of school for students is Wednesday, September 7th.
