WCHS to Host 64th Windsor Christmas Wrestling Tournament

Windsor Central High School will host the 64th Windsor Christmas Wrestling Tournament on Wednesday, December 29th and Thursday, December 30th.

35 teams from throughout New York state and Pennsylvania will participate. Competition begins at 10am on Wednesday. After a full day of wrestling Wednesday, competition will resume on Thursday at 9am. The finals of the event are scheduled for 3pm on Thursday. Due to COVID protocols, there will be no spectators at the tournament.

"Under the safest possible conditions given the environment that COVID has dictated, the tournament will host an incredible field of athletes that promises to produce some the best wrestling that fans will see all year, bar none.  With so many events being cancelled and changed, we have had to get creative in the way we do things to make this work and do what is best for the athletes. Without spectators, the environment will be different, but the quality of the wrestling will not suffer,” said Windsor wrestling coach Jeff Nolan.  “The Windsor Wrestling program is blessed to have a strong community of support to help try and pull this off. We are working harder than ever to put on an event that is consistent with the standards we have set in the past."

These are the programs participating in the tournament: Amsterdam, Attica-Batavia, BGAH, Blue Ridge (PA), Burnt Hills,, CBA/JD, Chenango Forks, Copenhagen, Corning, Deposit, Dryden, Greene/Oxford, Groton, Gouverneur, Homer, Honeoye Falls-Lima, Horseheads, Indian River, Lasalle, Manhasset, Marathon, New Hartford, Norwich, Penfield, Saratoga Springs, Shoreham Wading River, Spencer Van Etten/Candor, Starpoint, Susquehanna Valley, Tioga, Towanda (PA), Union Endicott, Walton/Delhi, Waverly, Wellsville, and Windsor.
