Hall Call

Kristin Waldron Fardon’s stellar high school softball resume is getting even more impressive – 13 years after graduating Windsor Central High School.

On Saturday, she will be inducted into the New York State High School Softball Hall of Fame at the Mudville Softball Complex in Herkimer, NY.

“I’m definitely looking forward to the weekend. I know a lot of the players and coaches who are getting inducted. They were really great players as well, so standing up there with them will be an honor. It will be a weekend to remember, and one to look back at all of the memories,” said Waldron Fardon.
Waldron Fardon was a four-time 1st-Team All-State selection during her five years of varsity softball at Windsor (she was a 2nd-Team All-State selection as a sophomore). She was also a member of the 2004 and 2008 state championship teams.

“My favorite memories of playing high school softball are winning the 2004 and 2008 Class B state titles with both of my sisters and some of my lifelong friends,” said Waldron Fardon, who also lists her go-ahead homerun in the 2008 state championship game as one of her most memorable moments. “Playing softball for Windsor Back Knights was so special because we always played as a team. This is a major reason why we were so successful. It also played a huge role in me earning a full scholarship to play Division-1 softball at the University at Buffalo.”

Not only was she able to play with her family and friends, but also for her father, long-time Black Knight softball coach Bill Waldron. He will present his daughter with her Hall of Fame plaque on Saturday.

“If it wasn't for my dad coaching me throughout the years, I would not have been the player I was. His passion, dedication, and love for the game helped me become successful over the years,” said Waldron Fardon. “Every time I had a bat in my hand, he was there.”

Waldron Fardon was also a three-time captain of the Black Knights, and holds the school record for most wins as a varsity player.
