Binghamton Food Tour to Benefit WCHS

You have a delicious way of helping students in the Windsor Central High School business program, thanks to a group of Binghamton University students.

The university’s Emerging Leaders program has organized a Binghamton Food Tour to benefit the WCHS business program. You can purchase a special card for five dollars on Saturday, November 6th from 2pm-6pm at Binghamton University’s Downtown Center. The card will give you discounts at the following restaurants: The Colonial, Stone Fox, Dos Rios, Alexander’s Café, The Shop, Oakdale Pizza, De Island Hut, Binghamton Hots, and Nirchi’s Pizza.

“This is another example of how we’re using University resources to bulid up programs at Windsor and give them more opportunities to interact with students in higher education,” said Lauren Kidd, Youth Initiative Coordinator at Binghamton University’s Center for Civic Engagement.

The proceeds will be reinvested into the makerspace in the entrepreneur class area for more posters and supplies. Of as much value will be time the Binghamton University students will spend working with the entrepreneur students at WCHS.

“I would love having the Binghamton University students coming in to mentor. They can give a fresh perspective on doing business in the 21st century,” said WCHS business teacher Mary Jo Wardell.

On Saturday, participants will check in at the Binghamton University Downtown Center at 67 Washington St in Binghamton to purchase tickets, then visit each restaurant, where they will receive a stamp and special discount/coupon. After completing the stamp card, participants can return to University Downtown Center to enter in a raffle for $50 gift cards.
