Kindness Week at Elementary Schools

Students in Windsor’s three elementary schools participated in a variety of Kindness Week activities since Monday, impacting each other and the greater community.

“We talked about how anyone can be kind. It’s a gift anyone can give to anyone else. It’s a gift that can impact anyone’s day,” said Bell Elementary counselor Lori Fisher.

Students in each elementary classroom set kindness goals they developed with their teacher. They worked on using manners, including others, giving someone a compliment each day, making kind choices everywhere they go, sharing with others, helping friends when needed and asking them to join in during play time.
“We want to teach how others feel when we are kind with them and how we feel when others are kind with us,” said Fisher.

Student Council Spirit Week included a food drive for Windsor Human Development. Students also made kindness cards for a classmate.

On Tuesday, students could join Fisher and Weeks Elementary counselor Nina Muto via Zoom for kindness story time as they read Invisible Boy, a book about including others.

“It’s good to see kids excited about being kind,” said Fisher.
