Oct. 26 COVID Update - Case at WCHS

Dear Windsor School Community,

On Monday, October 26, 2020, we were notified by the Broome County Health Department (BCHD) that the district has a confirmed case of COVID-19 involving a student at Windsor Central High School.   Information regarding this individual’s identity cannot be released.  We ask that you please respect this student’s privacy. This person will be placed in isolation for the mandated number of days.

In discussions with the BCHD, this student was not in school during their infectious period, the time frame that would require mandatory quarantines.

If there was any person in direct or proximate contact with this individual, they will be placed in quarantine. The district is assisting the Broome County Health Department with a contact tracing investigation.

We will continue to monitor this situation and will notify staff and families immediately of any interruptions to the school schedule. We appreciate your patience and cooperation, as we know this is a serious matter of great concern to many of you.  Please contact my office if you have any questions at 607-655-8216 or via email at [email protected]

Sincerely,

Jason A. Andrews, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
