State Testing Information

New York State has chosen to follow federal guidelines and will be administering NYS 3-8 testing this year.  However, there will be a few changes.  The tests for ELA, Math, and Science will be only one day each this year.  Because of our cohorted Hybrid Instructional Model, we will be conducting our ELA exam next Wednesday (April 21) and Thursday (April 22).  Specific dates for the other subject exams have not been determined as of yet.

As students must be physically in school in order to take these exams, we will have all students who are in session on Wednesday (Cohort B and Fully In-Person) take the exam that morning.  The tests, which are designed for approximately 90 minutes, are untimed.  Because we want to give all students ample time to complete them, we will hold off running our regular schedule until 10:45.  We will use the following schedule for Wednesday only:

Student Dismissal

Students who are remote on Wednesday (Cohort A and Fully Remote Learners) will follow this altered schedule from home, with Zoom classes beginning at 10:45.
Cohort A will take their exams on Thursday while we run our regular Bell Schedule.
We will begin Make-Up exams on Friday.
Fully Remote Learners have been given the opportunity to come to school to take the exams during this exam window, as well.
Students who opt out of participating in the exams will be directed to an alternate location during the exam.
Please let us know if you have any questions regarding this or anything else.
