Nov. 20 COVID Update - Student Case

Dear Windsor School Community,

On the night of Thursday, November 19, 2020, we were notified by the Broome County Health Department (BCHD) that a Windsor student has a confirmed case of COVID-19.  Information regarding this individual’s identity cannot be released.  We ask that you please respect this student’s privacy. This person will be placed in isolation for the mandated number of days.

The student uses Windsor Central School District transportation, but was not in any WCSD school building during the infectious period. According to the Broome County Health Department, there were no individuals who attend on the campus of a Windsor CSD school building identified who would require mandatory quarantines.

If there was a person in direct or proximate contact outside of the school or off the school campus, they will be placed in quarantine. The district is assisting the Broome County Health Department with a contact tracing investigation.

We will continue to monitor this situation and will notify staff and families immediately of any interruptions to the school schedule. We appreciate your patience and cooperation, as we know this is a serious matter of great concern to many of you.  Please contact my office if you have any questions at 607-655-8216 or via email at [email protected]

Sincerely,

Jason A. Andrews, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
