Summer Program Recap - July 30

Windsor Strong Students kept building their green project Tuesday. Some student groups are designing a pollinator garden for the Palmer Colonial Garden, others are building a black and gold perennial flower arrangement to put by the WCHS sign. Students will present their projects, as well as other work, during an event for caregivers on Thursday.
Knight Lights students continued their final week of camp. Tuesday’s STEM activity was making Bristle Bots. They are small robots that run on a circuit. When the circuit is connected it vibrates. The vibrations make the robot move.

Football, soccer, and golf camps continued Tuesday.

Football players went through the basics of USA football tackling safety which stresses head-up tackling to take the head out of the tackle and allow players to see what they’re tackling. They also had the first part of their punt, pass, and kick competition which will finish Thursday.

Soccer players warmed up with speed and agility drills, then went through 8 stations: possession, dribbling, sharks and minnows, two shooting drills, passing on the run, 1 vs. 1, and 2 vs. 2.

Golfers reviewed full swings and hit drivers off the tee. They also reviewed chipping and had a chipping contest, went over etiquette on the green, practiced putting form and held a putting contest
