Win in Windsor

Almost 300 people enjoyed, “In Windsor, We Win Together” Thursday at Windsor Central High School.

The Windsor Community Schools department hosted the event, which showcased community resources in a convenient space for parents. Children enjoyed carnival games, free food, prizes, and more. Parents learned about the more than two dozen community groups at the event.

These included the Broome County Health Department, Mothers and Babies Perinatal Network, United Way, CHOW, Broome County Office for Aging, Achieve, Broome-Tioga Workforce, Crime Victim’s Assistance Center, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County, and more.

“I hope people gain knowledge about resources, I hope they filled their bellies, and I hope they had fun. I’m excited that everyone can come to one place and see things they may not have known about that they need,” said Emily Friends, Community Schools Coordinator for the Windsor Central School District.

“It’s so fun. So many people from the community are here and involved. It’s awesome,” said Windsor parent Jaclyn Edwards. “Even if it’s just getting to know the professionals in the area I can go to for resources, it’s valuable.”
