Kenzee Jean Scholarship Information
The Kenzee Jean Scholarship fund has released its 2018 application. The object of the Kenzee Jean Wheeler Memorial Scholarship is to financially assist a deserving young person(s) in acquiring a higher education and making the public more aware of child safety around motor vehicles.

Kenzee Jean Wheeler was a vibrant, loving 4 year old girl whose life was tragically cut short in a motor vehicle accident on November 15, 2012. She was not buckled into her car seat which was still in the trunk of the car. A memorial scholarship has been set up to honor her and to raise awareness of safety of children in motor vehicles. Kenzee attended the Universal Pre-K at Windsor. She was a bright light that touched the lives
of everyone she met. Full of adventurous spirit, she grabbed each day with gusto.

Kenzee's slogan is SAFE: Secure everyone, be Aware of passengers and surroundings, Fix potential problems, Engage in safe driving practices

Applicants will submit a creative project, such as a poem, rap, song, poster or video that uses Kenzee’s slogan or a message relating to the slogan which raises awareness of motor vehicle safety issues involving children in the hopes of preventing future tragedies. The fund is stressing the proper use of car seats every time and being fully aware of passengers and those around the car (not drunken driving, not texting). It is looking for quality projects that will be on display to the public.

Since Kenzie's death the scholarship fund has awarded more than $18,500 to seniors throughout Broome County. For more on the scholarship and how to apply please click here
