58 members of Windsor Central High School’s junior class visited representatives from 125 colleges, universities, trade schools and other post-high school educational institutions at the 47th annual Greater Binghamton College Day.

“It was a great opportunity for our students to talk to admissions officers as they look at their plans after high school,” said guidance counselor Christina Taylor.

Representatives from the military were also on hand to talk to students about options such as R.O.T.C, the GI Bill and service academies. The event allowed students unsure of their post-high school plans to see what options are available while allowing those with a specific interest to narrow
their focus.

“I found out Clarkson offers a great civil engineering course,” said junior Ryan Pry. “They have a program where you can go there your senior year and get your high school diploma and your freshman year of college done.”

Alexia Barnes wants to study nursing and is looking to study in New York State. She visited representatives from Binghamton University, LeMoyne and Elmira College.

“I didn’t know LeMoyne had a nursing program,” said Barnes. “I learned that you go to school for three years then take your (nursing) Boards. Then, you go back for your fourth year.”
