Donuts with Dads

Breakfast may be the most important meal of the day, and Tuesday’s breakfast may have been the most important of the year for students at Bell Elementary, and their families.

The 2nd annual “Donuts with Dads” event allowed over 100 parents and grandparents to spend some time with students before school, and then escort them to class.

“It’s a great opportunity to get parents in and have kids see their parents in school. There were a lot of smiles on a lot of kids’ faces today,” said Bell Elementary principal Laurie Hulbert.

The event was at 8:30 on Tuesday, a time that worked better with some parents’ work schedules. Work commitments can make it hard for some parents to get to other events during the school year.

“I saw parents today that I won’t otherwise see because of their work schedules,” said Hulbert.

While the event was called “Donuts with Dad”, the school invited any parent, grandparent or guardian. A similar event, “Muffins with Mom” will take place on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 8:30am.
