50th Reunion for Unbeaten Team

Members of the undefeated 1968-69 boys basketball ball team will join their former coach Jack Collins at the Golden Oak golf course on Saturday to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the unbeaten squad.

“It will be interesting to see some of the players. It’s exciting and I’m looking forward to it. They had nice personalities. They were good kids,” said Collins.

The 1968-69 team went 21-0 on its way to a Susquenango League Championship and the Section IV championship.

“We had some outstanding players. The one thing I do remember is that right down to the last man, we played as a team,” said Collins.
Collins coach boys basketball at Windsor for 15 years, including 11 for the varsity team. He also was a girls basketball coach for 18 years, 15 for varsity. He also started the golf program, which he coached for 16 years.

“I’m very fortunate that with all of the teams I coached, I rarely had any trouble with anyone,” said Collins.

But, the ’68-’69 team does have a special place in his heart.

“Oh, yes,” said Collins.
