8th Grade Students Receive National Junior Honor Society Outstanding Achievement Awards

Samantha Sova and Sydney Christensen were chosen from a national pool of applications for the first annual National Junior Honor Society Outstanding Achievement Award Scholarship. The two 8th grade students from Windsor Middle School were among 500 students chosen from across the county.

To be eligible for this award a student must be a member of NJHS and demonstrate excellence in the five pillars of NJHS. The five pillars include, scholarship, service, leadership, character and citizenship. This is the first time the National Junior Honor Society has awarded this $500 scholarship. The scholarship money will be placed in a college savings account for each student recognized in hopes to jump start their quest towards higher education.
