Windsor Students Prepare 1,000+ Holiday Meals

The Bandera Family Christmas has become an annual tradition, ensuring thousands of Christmas meals to local people in need. Part of that tradition for over a decade has been the involvement of Windsor Central Middle School students in preparing the meal.

This year is no different. All 124 7th-grade students in the Middle School went to the American Legion Post 80 in Binghamton to help prepare over 1,000 take-out meals that will go to the less fortunate this Christmas.

"It allows our students to give back to our community and teach them in the future that helping any part of the community can make a huge difference," said teacher Bridget Wilson.

Windsor is the only district that sent students to help prepare the meals.

"I wanted to help people who aren't fortunate enough to get a meal for Christmas," said 7th grader Bridgett McLain.

"Some of us don't realize what we have and we should realize we shouldn't take it for granted. Not everyone gets what we do," said 7th grader Chelsea Norris.

The Bandera Family Christmas Dinner is in its 28th year.
