Windsor Named one of Best Places for Student-Athletes

The Windsor Central School District has been named one of the 35 best in New York State for student-athletes.

The rankings were compiled by niche.com, a site which aims to connect people to their future schools, neighborhoods and workplaces with ratings, reviews and in-depth profiles. According to Niche.com, Windsor ranks 22nd in Upstate New York and 32nd in New York State.

“The Windsor School District is extremely proud to be represented as part of this group. Accolades such as this would not be possible without an extremely dedicated coaching staff focused on what’s best for kids. This could also not be possible without the unwavering support of our Board of Education, administrative team and community,” said Windsor CSD Athletic Director Chris Durdon.

Factors considered were parent/student surveys, total enrollment, K-12 sports championships, the number of sports offered, boys athletic participation and girls athletic participation.

“I feel that it shows a lot of kids are involved in athletics in Windsor. Athletics are an important part of the high school experience and parents appreciate what the school and athletics do for their children,” said football and track coach Tim Hogan.
