KORT Concert Thursday, January 25th

Windsor High School’s Knights of the Rock Table (KORT) Electric Show concert on Thursday, January 25th at 6pm is the latest event for a groundbreaking program that has increased musical engagement at Windsor Central High School by 67%.

KORT is the only high school after-school program in the area, and one of the few in the country, that offers students chance to perform the music that they may not be able to in some of their other music classes.  This program was created as an effort to bridge the music that students listen to at home with the music that can be performed in school.

The students show up, create bands, choose songs and perform them.  Through this experience, the students gain 21st-century skills such as collaboration and self-assessment, as well as gain the confidence to perform in front of hundreds of people.

The program is now in its 8th year and has been featured in School Band & Orchestra Magazine as a way to include the 80% of high school students not typically involved in the school music program. Since KORTs inception in 2010, enrollment in the high school music program has increased from 90 students to approximately 150, even while overall student enrollment has seen a slight decline.

Presale tickets are available at lunch or students can stop down to the music suite.
