On Saturday, September 20, 2008 from 8:00am to 12:00 noon the 13th Annual Doctor's With A Heart Day will be held at the following locations:
- Progressive Dental, 703 Conklin Rd., Conklin, NY
- Progressive Dental, 565 Hooper Rd., Endwell, NY
- Progressive Dental of Norwich, 101 S. Broad St., Norwich, NY
- Chenango Bridge Dental, 528 Main St., Chenango Bridge, NY
Those with urgent dental needs who have no money, job, or means of welfare health care are invited to visit one of the above locations for care on a "first come, first served" basis.
Any dental service that can be performed and completed in one visit will be offered, which includes cleanings, fillings, extractions, flouride treatments and x-rays.
Twenty-Three years ago Dr. Duane Schmidt, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa founded DWAH day, Inc. Today DWAH has become the largest doctor charity in the world. It has been estimated that over 15,000 doctors and their staff in various health care disciplines participate in this day of giving.
Twelve years ago this tradition was started locally by Dr. Spera and his dedicated staff and associates. Over the past twelve years, all participating doctors and staff have treated over 3,461 patients and completed over $450,003.00 worth of dental services. "Across the nation, once a year, doctor's close their cash drawers to help people who have no means of support," said Dr. Spera. These doctors know of no better way to show they care for those in need who live in our communty.
